Welcome to Close the Gap Coaching. We’re honored to support you in creating a more connected, intentional, and fulfilling relationship.

Our work is designed to help couples develop greater awareness, communication, connection, accountability, and partnership. Because this work involves your relationship and sometimes deeply personal experiences, we want to be clear about what coaching is—and what it is not.

Coaching Is Not Therapy

Close the Gap Coaching provides relationship coaching and educational support. Coaching is not psychotherapy, marriage and family therapy, counseling, mental-health treatment, medical care, or crisis intervention.

We do not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions, psychiatric disorders, substance-use disorders, or other medical conditions. We do not provide clinical assessments or prescribe or recommend medication.

Coaching may involve discussing emotions, relationship patterns, communication challenges, conflict, intimacy, family dynamics, life transitions, or other personal experiences. Discussing these subjects does not make coaching therapy.

If you believe you or your partner may benefit from therapy, mental-health treatment, medical care, or another professional service, we encourage you to seek an appropriately licensed professional.

Coaching Is Not Crisis Support

Close the Gap Coaching is not designed to provide emergency or crisis services.

If you or your partner is experiencing an immediate safety concern, a mental-health crisis, thoughts of suicide or self-harm, threats of violence, or another emergency, please contact appropriate emergency or crisis services or seek immediate professional assistance.

Do not rely on Close the Gap Coaching, email, messaging, or social media for emergency support.

Relationship Safety Matters

We believe meaningful relationship growth requires emotional and physical safety.

Couples coaching may not be appropriate when there is active domestic violence, coercive control, intimidation, stalking, threats, or a significant fear of one partner by the other. In situations involving abuse or coercive control, traditional couples coaching can sometimes be inappropriate or unsafe.

If we determine that couples coaching is not an appropriate or safe setting for your circumstances, we may pause, decline, or discontinue coaching and recommend individual or specialized professional support.

You are never required to disclose more personal information than you are comfortable sharing.

Your Participation & Responsibility

Coaching is a collaborative process. We provide perspective, questions, frameworks, exercises, observations, and support; however, you and your partner remain responsible for your own decisions, actions, relationship, business, finances, and wellbeing.

We cannot guarantee a particular outcome from coaching.

Your results depend on many factors, including your circumstances, participation, willingness to reflect and experiment with new approaches, and the actions you choose to take outside of coaching.

You agree not to rely on coaching as a substitute for your own judgment or for professional advice from qualified legal, financial, medical, mental-health, or other licensed professionals.

No Guarantees

We are committed to providing thoughtful, ethical, and supportive coaching. However, we make no guarantees regarding:

- The outcome of your relationship

- The outcome of any particular conflict or disagreement

- Changes in communication or intimacy

- Business or financial results

- Any other personal, relational, or professional outcome

Testimonials or examples shared by Close the Gap Coaching represent individual experiences and are not guarantees that you will achieve the same results.

Privacy & Confidentiality

We take your privacy seriously and will make reasonable efforts to protect information shared with us in the course of coaching.

However, coaching confidentiality is not the same as the legal confidentiality protections that may apply to communications with licensed therapists, attorneys, physicians, or other professionals.

Because couples coaching involves two participants, we also recognize that each partner may have personal experiences, perspectives, and information they wish to discuss privately.

Before beginning coaching, we will establish clear expectations regarding individual communications, confidentiality, and information shared within the coaching relationship.

We ask all clients to respect the privacy of other clients and not share identifying information, stories, recordings, screenshots, or other confidential material outside the coaching container without permission.

Educational Content

Information provided through our website, podcast, social media, workshops, emails, courses, coaching sessions, or other materials is intended for general educational and informational purposes.

It should not be considered individualized medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

Business & Financial Decisions

If your coaching includes conversations about entrepreneurship, business, money, career decisions, or financial goals, those conversations are provided from a coaching and educational perspective.

Close the Gap Coaching does not provide legal, accounting, investment, tax, or financial-planning services unless specifically stated otherwise by a properly qualified professional.

Please consult the appropriate professional before making significant legal, financial, tax, or business decisions.

Right to Pause or End Coaching

We reserve the right to pause or end a coaching relationship when we believe continuing is not appropriate, safe, productive, or consistent with the values and agreements of our coaching container.

Clients may also choose to pause or discontinue coaching at any time, subject to the terms of their individual coaching agreement.

Our Values

We are committed to creating a coaching environment grounded in respect, dignity, inclusion, accountability, curiosity, consent, and emotional safety.

We welcome people from diverse backgrounds, identities, family structures, and relationship experiences. We expect every participant to extend that same respect to their partner, our team, and other members of our community.

We believe that growth does not require perfection. It does require honesty, willingness, responsibility, and a commitment to repair when harm occurs.
