It’s so amazing to have our couple be coached by a couple.

“We were in couples therapy for 3 years and while that definitely helped us and has its place for many issues, with Cheri and Mat we have been able to work with addiction issues, financial issues, parenting issues, communication issues, intimacy and past trauma.

Our time together was a time to stop in the busyness of the week and come together and communicate as a couple.

It’s so amazing to have our couple be coached by a couple. Especially a couple who is obviously doing the work themselves. This has allowed us to really open up without worrying about one of us being unequally represented.

We were able to dig deeper, and uncover things that have stopped our couple from thriving. We are on a path to the most fulfilling experience of our couple yet, thanks to their generous, spacious listening, and gentle guidance.”

Want to get on a call with us?

We want to hear from you. Here are some things you probably want to know beforehand...

  • Can we help you?

  • What are your values?

  • Is it for us?

  • Is this what we need?

  • Is there going to be high sales pressure or is it going to be expensive and out of my budget?

  • Can Cheri and Mat help me?

We coach from our experiences so here’s a little about us -

We’ve been married 25 years and together for 28. We’ve raised a son together and created multiple six figure businesses together. In that time we have struggled, we have learned, we have grown, we have sought help, we created a relationship we are proud of.

Our 25 year marriage has survived a porn addiction, unhealthy patterns, low self esteem, co-dependency, depression, hard financial times, and we have considered divorce multiple times.

We tried so many things - workshops, Landmark Education, Tony Robbins, group therapy, individual therapy, a marriage retreat and books.

And even after all of that work we know what it’s like to feel lonely instead of connected. To feel hurt instead of loved. To feel exhausted instead of hopeful.

We’ve had times when trusting anything would change felt impossible.

Despite everything we’ve been through we are still here and still closing the gap every day in our relationship.

We aren’t perfect and we don’t have it all “figured out.” But we have been able to move into a relationship full of love, joy, support, safety, and honesty.

We have fun. Now touch feels like home. With the tools we use, communication feels safer, and sharing happens with ease. Hard conversations are an opportunity for us to connect more deeply. We have each other’s backs and we’re a team. We feel seen, heard, and appreciated by one another. Even when there’s conflict we delight in one another.

And that is why we started doing this work - we want to support other couples who are hurting to close the gap and transform their relationship into a relationship they love to be in. All of these experiences as well as coaching couples in various stages of their relationship has led us to create this framework.

Most of us are not taught how to create healthy relationships, but we have found the skill can be learned. If our journey speaks to you we would love to get on a call.

  • What are our values?

I stopped spending money with people that don't align with my values - in case you do the same, Mat and I believe:

    - Science is real, useful and saves lives

    - Black and Brown lives matter

    - LGBTQ+ families matter

    - no person is illegal

    - trans women are women

    - trans men are men

    - ICE is absolutely abhorrent

  • Is it for us?

Our framework is for any committed couple from unmarried couples to engaged couples to couples that have been married for decades. We welcome couples from all walks of life, including LGBTQ+, straight, interracial and couples of every race and background.

We do not work with couples who support MAGA, racist ideologies or homophobia.

We are not therapists. We are coaches. We meet you where you are and work with you to help you create a relationship you love. We guide, we teach and we coach to help you create a relationship that works for you both.

We coach as a couple. Everyday we are walking the walk. We bring two perspectives. So there's always a balance so that you both feel seen and heard.

This is not religion or therapy based. It’s based upon one question.

Does this work or does it not work?

If it works for your couple, great, keep doing it. Anyone’s outside opinion doesn’t matter only if it works for your couple or not. There is no should or shouldn’t, right or wrong, bad or good only what works and what doesn’t.

If it doesn’t work for both of you it’s about creating what does this is where we use the Close The Gap Framework. First we check to see if there is a breakdown in commitment, safety, consent, boundaries, window of tolerance, requests, promises or acknowledgement.

Then depending on what the breakdown is we help guide you to close the gap in a way that is unique to your couple.

  • Is this what we need?

This is what the call Is It Right For Us call is for, we will find out where you are and where you want to be and if we can help you we will let you know. And if it isn’t, we’ll let you know.

Our coaching is not one size fits all. We customize our sessions while still using the framework so that you have all of the tools you need to create a relationship that works for you both.

  • Is it going to be high pressure or is it going to be out of my budget?

The call will be a conversation. Consent is important to us in relationships and it's also important to us from our clients. We don’t do pressure.

We believe in being transparent. Price ranges from $997 to $1897 depending on the length of the coaching package.

For the first time in a really long time, I'm no longer looking for an excuse to leave.

“Before working with Cheri, I was stuck. My husband and I were avoiding difficult conversations, boundaries were being crossed, and I was seriously questioning whether my marriage would survive. I was exhausted. I felt trapped, unable to fully commit to saving or walking away from my marriage.

Cheri helped me find clarity.

She challenged my assumptions, reminded me that emotional safety is something we all deserve, and gave me permission to ask for what I needed without apologizing for it. More importantly, she helped me recognize that I couldn't expect my husband to understand what I wanted or needed until I was really clear about it myself.

Cheri speaks from experience because she's done this work herself. She understands how messy and difficult it can be, and she holds space for the real conversations and hard questions you have to ask when you're trying to figure out what it is you want in your life.

My husband and I are still doing the work. We still have some difficult conversations ahead of us, but for the first time in a really long time, I'm no longer looking for an excuse to leave. Instead, I'm looking forward to seeing what my marriage can become.”
